Services

Preventive Oral Hygiene Instruction:

This includes proper brushing, flossing, dietary habits, fluoride treatments, and the use of pit and fissure sealants. We strive to provide a fun, educational environment where both children and parents learn the importance of good oral hygiene.

Restorative Dentistry:

Our first priority is maintaining a healthy smile. Restorative treatment may include fillings, crowns, root canal therapy, extractions, silver diamine fluoride (SDF), and space maintenance. We are committed to discussing all options before these procedures and answering all questions you may have.

Sedation Dentistry:

Sedation dentistry refers to the use of sedation during dental treatment. Sedation is most commonly used during extensive procedures, for patients with dental phobia or for patients who find it difficult to sit still. Our office offers nitrous oxide (laughing gas) as well as general anesthesia in a hospital setting. A consultation will help us determine which option is best for your child.

Frenectomies:

Children may be born with a combination of conditions called a tongue-tie and/or lip-tie. These attachments can cause restrictions in movement, resulting in difficulty with breastfeeding. In some cases, other health problems such as dental decay, speech and airway difficulties, and digestive issues may arise. These concerns can generally be improved by a simple release done with a soft tissue laser.

Treating a tongue or lip tie is a simple procedure that can be done in the dental office without anesthesia using a laser. Soft tissue lasers have various capabilities.  The laser has the ability to focus energy at a very small target point and can be used for soft tissue incision, excision and ablation.

The qualities make the laser very efficient at cutting and coagulating soft tissue with the least amount of thermal damage, little to no bleeding, and less post operative discomfort.

Emergency Treatment:

While our goal is to prevent dental emergencies, we understand that the need for urgent dental care is sometimes necessary and can be a stressful experience for both parents and children. We strive to handle dental emergencies promptly and with compassion.

Special Needs:

If you're the parent, or guardian, of a child with disabilities, you'll appreciate the support, skill and compassion found with Dr. Christie and her office.  We can help put your child on the path of good oral health with a preventative dental care plan customized to fit your child's needs.
